Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Arrow to Pin ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Arrow to Pin is a precision compass and astronomy app for iPhone and iPad that helps users navigate to saved destinations. The App uses your device's GPS, magnetometer, and on-device computations to calculate direction, distance, sun and moon positions, and 24-hour solar/lunar trajectories. Saved destinations include religious sites (Qibla toward Mecca, Vatican, Notre-Dame, Bodh Gaya…), tourist landmarks, sports venues, government buildings, geographic wonders, and your own personal points.

3. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on any Apple device you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

4. User Responsibilities

When using Arrow to Pin, you agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Not use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service
• Not use the App for navigation in situations where inaccuracy could lead to harm
• Verify direction accuracy with other sources when precision is critical

5. Accuracy Disclaimer

The compass directions provided by Arrow to Pin are for reference purposes only. Direction accuracy depends on:

• Your device's compass calibration
• Environmental factors (magnetic interference, metal objects)
• GPS signal strength and accuracy
• Device hardware capabilities

Important: Do not rely solely on Arrow to Pin for critical navigation or religious obligations. We recommend verifying directions with other sources when accuracy is essential.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Arrow to Pin and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any points and data you create within the App. All saved points are stored locally on your device; they are not synchronized to any server (including iCloud). When you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

You can share saved points with others as Universal Links of the form https://arrowtopin.com/share?n=...&lat=...&lng=.... The recipient sees only the point's name and coordinates; no information about you or your other points is transmitted.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by its own terms:

• Apple Maps (MapKit): Subject to Apple Maps Terms of Use.
• App Store: Subject to Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config): anonymous usage analytics and crash diagnostics. Subject to Firebase Terms of Service.
• Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob): banner, interstitial, and app open advertising. Subject to AdMob Terms.
• Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): consent form for advertising data processing in regulated regions (GDPR/CCPA).

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of these third-party services. Their data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Advertising

Arrow to Pin is offered free of charge and is supported by advertising. The App displays banner, interstitial, and app open ads served by Google AdMob. In regulated regions (EU/EEA, UK, California, and others), the App requests your consent for personalized advertising via Google's User Messaging Platform on first launch; you can review and update your choices anytime via Settings → Legal → Ad Preferences. There are no in-app purchases or paid tiers.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will meet your requirements
• The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The directions provided will be accurate or reliable
• Any errors in the App will be corrected

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ARROW TO PIN BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the App
• Any inaccuracy in compass directions or distance calculations
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any third-party conduct or content

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arrow to Pin from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

You may terminate your use at any time by deleting the App from your device.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Posting notice in the App or App Store update notes

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Arrow to Pin regarding the use of the App.
